The third annual Aurora Kite Festival is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 19.
The free, all ages festival invites participants to bring their own kite and fly it at RiverEdge Park adjacent to Jake’s Bagels and Deli at 220 N. Broadway.
“It’ll be a great morning in downtown Aurora with kites flying across from the Aurora Farmers Market preview and plant sale, and with many new businesses to visit like Branch Gardens and Tredwell Coffee,” said event coordinator Marissa Amoni..
The family-friendly event is hosted by Aurora Downtown, an organization of business and property owners. The first 150 children receive a free kite courtesy of City of Aurora Neighborhood Festival Funding.
Due to construction along Broadway, participants can enter the park via the riverwalk.
