The City of Lights became a city fit for a king over the weekend and on Monday when Togolese officials including His Excellence King Aklasou Mawuko Kwami Adelan, the Traditional Ruler of Canton De Bè in the West African country the Republic of Togo.
The short trip included stops at Mayor Irvin’s 500 day celebration, dinner at La Quinta de los Reyes in downtown Aurora, a breakfast and press conference at City Hall, and a tour of Aurora Public Art’s “Finding Home” exhibit featuring photographs of local immigrant families taken by local photographers.
His Excellence King Aklasou Mawuko Kwami Adelan, the Traditional Ruler of Canton De Bè in the West African country the Republic of Togo has arrived in the United States of America. His first official stop on his tour is to the City of Aurora, Illinois where he met with Aurora Mayor Richard C. Irvin along with city and community leaders on Monday morning at City Hall.
